Manuka honey is in every wellness influencer's pantry. Whether it deserves its reputation is a different question. BEE+ UMF15+ is the SKU we recommend most often — here's the daily-use case.
Why UMF15+ specifically
UMF15+ is the daily-use sweet spot:
- Strong enough antimicrobial activity to be functionally meaningful
- Affordable enough for routine consumption (UMF20+ is reserved for acute use)
- Authenticated NZ origin with batch-level UMF certification
The four most-supported daily uses
- Morning gut priming — 1 tsp on empty stomach. Soothes and feeds beneficial gut bacteria.
- Sore throat / scratchy throat — 1 tsp slowly swallowed, no water for 10 min. Thick texture coats and supports the throat lining.
- Wound and skin support — applied topically (patch test first). Antimicrobial.
- Pre-flight — 1 tsp before boarding airplane recycled-air infections.
Sourcing transparency
BEE+ honey is sourced from the South Island of New Zealand 🇳🇿, where Leptospermum scoparium (Manuka) grows wild. Each batch is independently UMF-tested and traceable to its harvest region.
What Manuka isn't
- Not a substitute for medical antibiotics
- Not a cancer treatment (despite some marketing online)
- Not unique in offering antioxidants (most raw honey does)
